A group of 30 Brownies (girls aged 7-11 years) from the Sharjah Girl Guides (SGG), have ventured into the wild to test themselves in unfamiliar surroundings. They were taken on an overnight camping trip to Hatta as part of an SGG workshop titled ‘Under the Moonlight’, to give them an insight into essential life skills, build their teamwork and leadership capabilities and step out of their comfort zone to receive ‘experiential education’.

Along the way, the girls picked up on essential personality attributes and social skills required for holistic personality development in a fun and challenging environment. These happy campers were awarded the SGG ‘Guiding World’ badge for successfully completing their overnight training.

Another workshop titled ‘Junior Innovators’ was organized this month for 30 Brownies to ignite their imagination, play around with their creative capacities and encourage them to think outside the box. The young participants’ problem-solving skills were put to test by SGG as they searched for new ways to build with LEGO blocks and other materials. In the end, they walked away proud with SGG ‘Art’ badges and new-found confidence.
